May - October 2003: DEC, the British Disasters Emergency Committee
(London) has contracted GFE to evaluate the Humanitarian situation
in the Goma region and to report actions to be taken to assist displaced

Madrid/Spain,
September 2003: GFE decided to open a regional office in
Madrid/Spain. The Director and Partner of that office is Christian
Nadal, who worked for many years with GFE on international
contracts. The Madrid based office will cover the countries of Spain,
Portugal and Latin America. The office started operation on 1st September 2003.

Kingston/Jamaica,
14 July 2003: GFE has contributed to the "Modernization
Programme of the Public Administration" of the Jamaican
administration. The modernization of the administration of the Planning
Institute of Jamaica (PIOJ), that is established under the Ministry
of Finance, has been achieved. On 14th July 2003 PIOJ with GFE organized
a Conference in Kingston to present the results achieved. Focus was on
Human Resources, Corporate Planning, Financial Management (introduction
of cost calculation), Information and Communication and Marketing. A two
volumes Handbook was presented by the Project Director of GFE, Robin
Mitchinson, to Dr. Wresley Hughes, Director General of PIOJ. The
implementation of the modernization will be realized before end 2003.
This project is funded by the European Union FED. |
Maribor/Slovenia,
July 2003: The Maribor Chamber of Commerce and Industry has
published a booklet produced by GFE titled: Being
Successful in the Single European Market". The production
of this booklet was funded by PHARE. The booklet will help SME
entrepreneurs to access easier the European Market and to assure
management skills, quality and product management. |

2003: The German Ministry of Economy and Labor has nominated the CEO
of GFE, Mr. Daldrup, as "advisor to Latvia" (Beauftragter für
Lettland). Mr. Daldrup will keep close contact to the Latvian Government

The aim is to make UTICA a federation to international standards. GFE
made the assessment and proposed a modernization programme. |

4. November 2002: The European Commission has contracted GFE to
organize its important European Union - West Africa Business Meeting
AGRO-IND.
400 entrepreneurs are expected to attend that Meeting. The focus of that
meeting is to facilitate new business contacts between entrepreneurs of 15

GFE has been contracted by Egyptian PSDP/MEDA Programme, funded by the EU,
to realize assessments in a number of Egyptian private companies and to
help them to improve their production and their management..

December
2001: After four years of cooperation GFE submitted the Technology
Center/Business incubator of Kaunas (Lithuania) to the Technical
University of Kaunas. The Technology Center of Kaunas became quickly a
new challenge of former students of that Technical University to start
their own business. The Technology Center was fully booked out end 2002,
with a long waiting list of new SMEs attending to move into that Center.
In only three years time 150 new employments had been created in that
Center. More employment could have been generated, if more space than the
existing 2.000 m² had been available. More information click. |
In August 2001
the GFE Mauritius Ltd. has been founded. GFE had only an office in
Mauritius. Taking into consideration the economic development of Mauritius
and the increasing number of contracts, GFE decided to set up GFE
Mauritius Ltd. as a further milestone in GFE´s strategy to present on
international level |
 Since
June 2001 GFE has two new collaborators in Latvia: Ms. Lasma
Franckevica and Mr. Neils Kalnins. Both have been seconded to
the Vidzeme Development Agency in Valmiera. Mr. Kalnins will set-up a
regional investment promotion for the Region of Vidzeme. Mr. Kalnins
is also the representative of GFE in Latvia. |

Frankfurt, 23. April 2001:
On invitation of GFE and the Handwerkskammer
Rhein-Main, the hon. Minister of Handicrafts and
Co-operatives of Mauritius P. Koonjoo signed in Frankfurt a
co-operation agreement.
This agreement will allow a close co-operation
between the Handwerkskammer and the Mauritian Ministry to implement a
project on qualification of the SME sector. The Handwerkskammer of
Frankfurt intends to become engaged in Mauritius to strengthen the SME
sector and to assist the country on its way to become a highly developed
country.
On invitation of the Chairman
of GFE, Dr. Ulrich Daldrup, the Minister had the opportunity to speak to
some 200 German industrialists at a meeting of MIT
- Mittelstands- und Wirtschaftsvereinigung in Aachen. He presented
Mauritius as a ideal place for investment and leisure. He invited Prof.
Dr. Erich Greipl, boss of the METRO-group, the second largest department
store Cie of the world, to Mauritius. Prof. Greipl was the key-note
speaker on the MIT event in Aachen.

The Chairman of the Mauritian National Computer Board, Mr. Munbodh,
and the Director General of that Board, Mr. Mohee, visited GFE Headquarter
in Aachen to get an introduction in the management of Technology Centers.
They visited the Technology Centers of Aachen, Herzogenrath and Jülich.
Mauritius intends to invest in an Technology Center for IT-companies. The
positive examples of the Centers in Aachen might serve as model for
Mauritius. GFE has been invited to assist the Mauritian National Computer
Board with the realization of this first Technology Center of Mauritius.

Aachen, 18.1.2001:
Gemeinsam mit MIT Aachen und dem von der Bundesregierung
finanzierten Programm "Deutsch-Indische Wirtschaftsförderung - IGEP",
durchgeführt von der Aachener Firma GFE,
wurden in der Aachener AGIT - Technologiezentrum die ersten Deutsch-Indischen
Informatiktage durchgeführt. Der große indische Softwareverband NASSCOM
war sowohl durch seinen Präsidenten als auch seinen Chairman vertreten.
Die 20 größten und bedeutendsten indischen Softwarehäuser haben sich
zahlreichen deutschen IT-Firmen vorgestellt um Kooperationen anzubahnen.
Dr. Kebschull, der seit 13 Jahren in Dehli deutsch-indische Wirtschafts-
kooperationen anbahnt und sich durch zahlreiche Veröffentlichungen als
Fachmann für deutsch-indische Wirtschaftsfragen ausgewiesen hat, hat
durch seinen Vortrag über IT-Unternehmen in Indien den Vortrag des
NASSCOM Präsidenten Phiroz Vandrevala ergänzt. Nach den guten
Erfahrungen dieses bilateralen IT-Tages soll nun jedes Jahr in Aachen ein
Deutsch-Indischer Informatiktag stattfinden.

20.12.2000 - Kaunas,
Lithuania: Dr, Ulrich Daldrup received a Dr. honoris causa from the
Technical University of Kaunas (KTU). He received this distinction for
his support to the Technical University of Kaunas, the realization of
the first Technology Center of the University and his engagement in favor
of the Lithuanian economy since independence of the nation. Former
Rector Prof. Dr. Krisciunas held the laudatory. German
Ambassador Detlof von Berg, Rector Prof. Buchkremer from Aachen
University, former v-Rector of KTU Arunas Lukosevicius and Prof.
Robertas Jucevicius of KTU held additional laudatories. Dr.
Daldrup announced in his lecture a new foundation, that will support
students and professors from Kaunas to study or teach at
Aachens´Universities.

7.12.2000 - Port Louis,
Mauritius: The President of Mauritius, Hon. Cassam Uteem received
a second time in 2000 Dr. Daldrup to agree on the opening of an office
of the Mauritian Board of Investments in Europe. This office should be
opened in Aachen, Germany. The closer co-operation of German
Handwerkskammern in Mauritius to push the vocational training in the
country was agreed to, as well as the organization of Mauritian days in
Germany in summer 2001 at the occasion of the opening of the first
Mauritian embassy in Germany in January 2001 in Berlin. Ambassador
Jagdish Haton was introduced to the owner of the MARITIM
hotel group Ms. Dr. Monika Gommolla by Dr. Daldrup. Dr. Gommolla
proposed to organize the Mauritius days in the MARITIM hotels of Cologne
and of Berlin.

Ms.Liga Bitane from Riga, a 29 years old MBA has finished a three month
trainee programme with GFE in Aachen. The trainee programme had been
financed by German CDG. Ms Bitane worked with GFEs team of Trade and

4.10.2000 - Aachen, Kaunas:The Rector of
the Technical University of Kaunas (Lithuania), Prof. Dr. Kestutis
Krisciunas, visited with both his
vice-Rectors and Dr. Pranas Milius, Director of the Technology Center of
that University, GFE Headquarters in Aachen. The Rector had meetings with
the Rector of the Technical University of Aachen, Prof. B. Rauhut, the
Rector of the University of Applied Science of Aachen, Prof. Dr. Buchkremer
and with GFE Chairman Dr. Daldrup. GFE assists since 1998
the University of Kaunas to create and manage the Technology Center.
Subject of the meetings was a closer co-operation between the
universities and the creation of a "Technology Transfer
Department" in Kaunas.

10.10.2000 - Lusaka, Zambia: European
Commission had charged the companies AGORA2000 of Roma and GFE to
organize the third international conference on Mining "MINES
2000" in Lusaka. After the official opening by the vice President
of Zambia, Chairman Daldrup held the technical opening speech to the 450
participants. 130 new mining projects had been presented, all based in
the SADC countries. Industrialists and bankers out of 30 countries
participated at that Forum.

22.8.2000 Vilnius, Lithuania: The Prime
Minister of Lithuania, Mr. Andriui Kubiliu, received GFE Chairman Daldrup in his office in
Vilnius to discuss the project of a donation of a 5.000 m2, 5 floor
building in the center of the city of Kaunas to the Technical University
of Kaunas. This building will serve as Technology Center 2. Technology
Center 1 is completely booked out with the creation of 100 new working
places only in the year 1999. Dr. Daldrup was accompaigned by
vice-Rector of the KTU Prof. Aranus Lukosevicius, the Governor of Kaunas and
the Director of the Technology Center Dr. Pranas Milius. |
Hanover 1 June 2000:
German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder visits the stand of Kenya after the official
opening ceremony of the world exhibition EXPO 2000. GFE, together with
Formvielfalt, a partner Cie from Frankfurt, have realized a turn-key
realization of the country presentations at EXPO 2000 of: Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda,
Madagascar, Djibouti, Eritrea and the international
organization IGAD. GFE is very proud, that the Africa Hall was among the
three most visited places during the 5 month of the EXPO 2000. |
30.5.2000 Riga, Latvia: World Bank and
the Government of Latvia had organized a two days conference on regional
development in Latvia. GFE Chairman Daldrup was invited as speaker for
Germany. Daldrup held a key note speech on "Europe of Regions - and
what Latvia can learn from it"

Madona, Latvia Mai 2000:
The six Rayons forming the Region of Vidzeme signed a convention to set
up the Regional Development Agency of Vidzeme, one of the most populated
regions of Latvia. GFE is the adviser of Latvia for Regional Policy and
Development. Six experts of GFE are delegated to assist the Region of
Vidzeme on its way to become a "Region". The programme is
financed by German TRANSFORM Programme, handled by KfW, Frankfurt |

Hans Garbe, MBA, has been appointed by GFE Project Director of the
Regional Development Project Vidzeme. He is based in Valmiera and will
assist the Regional and National authorities to create a Regional
Development Agency and to identify regional projects to be financed with
the pre-structural funds of the EU. His Project co-ordinator is Lasma
Franckevica. Mr. Garbe is assisted by a number of high qualified experts
and the German AGIT, the Regional Development Agency of Aachen.

21.1.2000 Port Louis, Mauritius: The
President of Mauritius, H.E. Cassam Uteem, received Chairman Daldrup in his residence to
speak about a closer co-operation between Mauritius and Germany in the
field of economic and investment promotion. The President offered GFE to
become the Mauritian Delegation of MEDIA - the Mauritian economic and
investment authority, in Germany. Daldrup met also Minister of
Industry Xavier Duvall and Minister of Housing Satish Faugoo.

January 1999, Vilnius: Mrs.
Virginija Marma has been appointed Liaison Officer of GFE in Lithuania.
GFE is working since many years in Lithuania as Consulting Company to
top Lithuanian companies in the field of management, product
development,
sales to the EU, Quality management and cost control.
With the Kaunas University of Kaunas, GFE realizes a
Technology Center in Kaunas.
All projects are co-financed by German Transform
programme, handled by KfW

Latvia and Lithuania 1999 -
2001: Mr. Heger has been delegated to the Baltic countries to work
as expert in Quality Management and ISO 9000ff certification. Mr. Heger
advises private companies in the Baltic states. He also assists the
companies to improve their products and helps them selling in the German
and European market.

Kaunas, Latvia 1997 - 2001:
The Technical University of Kaunas has realized the first Technology
Center as incubator for start-up companies with innovative products
in Kaunas. GFE assists the University with the erection of an
appropriate building and the management of that Center. GFE works closely
together with Aachen based Technology Center AGIT. The Center in Aachen
has been opened in 1984 and has been the first of its kind in Germany.
The Kaunas Center is full operational since February 1999. A second
Technology Center should open ASAP in Kaunas. Mr. Christoph Hüske is GFEs
expert in management of Technology Centers and has been seconded to
Kaunas since 1998.

Morocco (June 1992):The
magazine SCALA published an article on GFE´s 10 years twinning project
with the Chamber of Handicrafts of Fez. Within 10 years, GFE, in joint
co-operation with the Handwerkskammer Rhein-Main (Frankfurt) implemented a
completely new Chamber of Handicrafts in Fez, that fulfils all criteria of
a modern European chamber. Not only a vocational training center had been
realized, even the Moroccan legislation on handicrafts, SME and the
private sector had been amended. The programme was co-financed by the
Moroccan Government and the German Ministry of Co-operation through German
GTZ.
